Dr. Atul Gaur MD, FRCA

Dr.Atul Gaur is a Consultant Anaesthetist in University Hospital Leicester. He is the director for Society for Ultrasound in Anaesthesia. He is a medical innovator, inventor and an ultrasound enthusiast. He has got numerous patents for ultrasound needle guide systems, needle delivery apparatus and augmentative/alternative communication systems. He has over 40 publications to his name and is well renowned in the world of regional anaesthesia. He is a national and international faculty in numerous courses across the world.

Dr Piyush Mallick MB.BS, MD (AIIMS), EDIC

In fond memories of our beloved colleague and faculty.

Dr.Piyush was a senior faculty for ultrasound guided nerve blocks (Kuwait board anesthesia regional fellowship), he is also an instructor for NYSORA Abu Dhabi 2014 and NYSORA Dubai 2017 and Faculty Dubai Regional Anesthesia (DHCC) 2014. He was also an expert in ultrasound in intensive care, emergency resuscitation and trauma. He was in the echocardiography board (Winfocus, Italy) and faculty member in Winfocus Echo courses for transthoracic and transoesophageal echo, 2015.

Dr.Piyush had his own website dedicated to promoting the use of ultrasound in Anaesthesia, Critical care and Emergency Medicine (ACE)

Dr Sheelaj Sharma MBBS MD FCARCSI

Dr Sheelaj Sharma is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Basildon and Thurrock University NHS Foundation Trust, UK. He is also the lead for regional anaesthesia training. He trained at St Bartholomew’s School of Anaesthesia, London and his main interests are regional anaesthesia and acute pain management in trauma orthopaedics.

He is a regular faculty at workshops organised at the Royal College of Anaesthetists,  AAGBI (Association of Anaesthetists, Great Britain and Ireland) and Pre EuroAnaesthesia Congress.  He has also successfully started a collaborative regional anaesthesia course by integrating  teams across five major hospitals in Essex, UK.

He is a founding member of the British Anaesthesia and Pain academy (BAPA) and has been working towards expanding regional anaesthesia training both nationally and internationally. His current collaboration with AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India) Trauma team has led to an upcoming workshop in April 2017, aimed to train emergency department doctors in regional anaesthesia for acute pain management in trauma.

Dr Madan Narayanan MD FRCA FCARCSI FFICM EDIC EDRA

Dr Madan Narayanan was appointed as a consultant in Anaesthesia & Intensive in Frimley Health NHS Trust, UK in 2011. His special interests are regional anaesthesia in intensive care and lung ultrasonography.

He is the course director for the very first continuous regional anaesthesia course in the UK, the Frimley Regional Anaesthesia Catheter Course (FRACC). He is also a well-regarded faculty in national and international regional anaesthesia courses.

He is a honorary lecturer in the MSc Regional Anaesthesia, University of East Anglia and runs his own Youtube channel to promote education in regional anaesthesia. He has also authored review articles in BJA Education.

Dr Arun Venkataraju MD FRCA EDRA

Dr Arun Venkataraju was appointed as a consultant in Anaesthesia, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Basingstoke & Winchester, UK in 2014. His special interests are sonoanatomy of spine and continuous catheter analgesic techniques for abdominal surgeries. He played an integral part in setting up the rectus sheath catheter service in his hospital (Basingstoke).

He is faculty in numerous regional anaesthesia courses in the UK, including FRACC, EPIC, BUSCIPAN, Essex Continuous regional anaesthesia course and Pan Essex Regional Anaesthesia Course. He has also authored review articles in BJA Education and is a honorary lecturer in the MSc Regional Anaesthesia, University of East Anglia.

Dr Karthik Ponnusamy MBBS MD FRCA EDRA FFPMRCA

Dr Karthik Ponnusamy is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management at East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust.  His is a keen enthusiast of using regional anaesthetic techniques in Chronic Pain Management. His special interest is use of Ultrasound Guidance in Interventional Pain Management.
He is a faculty in many Ultrasound Guided Interventional Pain Management courses. He has also authored chapters in Ultrasound Guided Interventional Pain Management courses (under publication).
His other interests include Airway Management and he is the National Lead for the Difficult Airway Society’s National Difficult Airway Database and Alert Card Project.

Dr Irfan Raza MBChB MPhil MRCSed FRCA

Irfan has just completed his training and been appointed as a consultant anesthetist with an interest in vascular anaesthesia in Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey, UK. He graduated from The University of Liverpool and completed basic surgical training at the Royal Surrey County Hospital  before switching careers to anaesthesia. Regional anaesthesia allows him to combine anaesthesia, anatomy and practical procedures. Irfan also described a new block called the sub-pectoral interfascial plane block.

In addition to the above he is also passionate about teaching. He is Faculty on a number of regional anaesthesia courses including The Frimley Regional Anaesthesia Catheter Course (FRACC) and the Essex Continuous Regional Anaesthesia Course for more experienced practitioners as well as The Basic Ultrasound Competency in Probe and Needling (BUSCIPAN) course for core trainees. He is a faculty member of the South London Anaesthetic Primary (SLAP) course and is an honorary lecturer in the MSc in Regional Anaesthesia at the University of East Anglia.

Dr Yuvraj Kukreja MBBS DA DESA EDRA

Dr Yuvraj Kukreja, joined as a clinical fellow in Frimley Park Hospital and successfully completed fellowships in regional anaesthesia, simulation and obstetric research. He has currently entered Speciality Training programme at the East Midlands School Of Anaesthesia,UK. Yuvraj is a regional enthusiast, he has completed the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Management in 2016. He recently presented his work on “ Documentation of risks for Upper Limb Blocks” and “Ultrasound assessment of surgically inserted rectus sheath catheters” at the ESRA conference 2016 , at Maastritch, Netherlands. His special interests include rectus sheath and serratus plane blocks.

He is faculty in numerous regional anaesthesia courses in the UK, including Royal College of Anaesthetists, AAGBI (Association of Anaesthetists, Great Britain and Ireland), Essex Continuous Regional Anaesthesia workshops  and Pre EuroAnaesthesia Congress. He is also one of the organisers of the BUSCIPAN course at Frimley Park Hospital,Surrey,UK

Dr Suyogi Jigajinni BSc MB ChB FRCA

Dr Suyogi (Yogi) Jigajinni worked as an Attending Anesthesiologist in Ann Arbor Michigan and is about to take up a Consultant post at Whipps Cross Hospital, Barts Health. Dr Yogi completed his Advanced Anaesthesia training in the Central London and Barts & The London Schools of Anaesthesia  and his advanced Regional Anaesthesia Fellowship at Basildon University Hospital. His areas of interest include UGRA service development. He has recently been involved in setting up the awake surgery renal fistula service at Basildon, and is in the process of developing a Block Room, which will be the first in the Essex region.

He is Faculty on the Essex Continuous Regional Anaesthesia Conference, and more recently the AAGBI Spinal Sonography. He is commited to teaching and has developed a training programme for Emergency Medicine and Orthopaedic colleagues in UG Fascia Illiaca blockade.
Dr Yogi also has a wealth of advanced experience outside of Regional Anaesthesia, he is an Obstetric and Airway Anaesthetist and is also fellowship trained in HPB, Vascular & Upper GI Anaesthesia.

Dr Simon Bindelle completed his training in anaesthesia at the University of Liège, Belgium in 2016. He was appointed as a clinical fellow in regional anaesthesia in Frimley Health NHS Trust, UK in 2016 and was then appointed as a locum consultant anaesthetist in the same trust in 2017. He completed the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Management (ESRA) in 2015 and the European Diploma in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESA) in 2016. Dr Bindelle is a faculty in numerous regional anaesthesia courses (ESA, AAGBI, FCRA, BUSCIPAN, EPIC, AURA, East Surrey Hospital, CHU Liege). He is currently a student for the MSc in Regional Anaesthesia at the University of East Anglia, UK.

Dr Harshal Wagh MBBS MD FRCA

Dr.Harshal Wagh is a Consultant Anaesthetist in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital,Mumbai. KDAH is a 750 bedded multisuper-speciality hospital and one of the leading centres of excellence in Mumbai.
Dr.Harshal has trained in the UK and has completed his fellowship of RCOA .His special interests include regional anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia and anaesthesia for liver transplant. He has been instrumental in starting ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia practise in his hospital. He is an active faculty in many workshops and training programmes involving regional aneasthesia in national and international conferences held across India.
He is also been instrumental in setting up teaching programmes and workshops in regional anaesthesia for students in major teaching hospitals in Mumbai.

Prof. Sanjeev Bhoi MBBS MD

Professor Sanjeev Bhoi is an emergency medicine consultant at AIIMS Trauma centre, New Delhi, India. Dr.Bhoi is a prominent faculty in numerous trauma and focussed ultrasound courses across the globe. He has taught in ultrasound courses in USA, Australia and in the UK. He has numerous publications on ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia in the ED setting.

Dr.Prit Singh is a Consultant in Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine at Changi General Hospital, Singapore

Dr. Singh trained in Edinburgh and South East Scotland and was appointed as a substantive consultant at Western General Hospital in 2013. Subsequently Dr. Singh moved to Singapore in 2017. His special interests include use of ultrasound in pain related blocks as well as loco-regional techniques for surgery. He is actively involved in teaching and training anaesthetists/emergency medicine doctors in skills of regional anaesthesia and how to practice it safely to prevent injury and complications in the short and long term. He is a faculty in European Society of Anaesthesia spine scanning workshop along with world renowned faculty in spinal scanning Dr.Tom Grau.
